Nick Cardoza, a yachting professional with both yacht sales and yacht operations experience, has joined Merle Wood & Associates as a yacht broker. Cardoza will focus on assisting clients from around the world with yacht sales, charters, and new construction.
Joining an internationally recognized brokerage such as Merle Wood & Associates allows me to serve my clients in the best way possible, and I’m looking forward to expanding my reach globally in the luxury yacht market.
Cardoza oversaw in-house sales for VanDutch, which he successfully launched in South Florida and built into a household name while becoming the top-performing salesperson worldwide from 2013-17. Prior to that, he honed his sales skills while working with notable yacht sales firms such as Ferretti Group South America, HMY, and Allied Marine.
During this time, he also co-founded a tech startup — a mobile yachting app for booking on-demand day charters. Cardoza, known as “Mr. Yachts” by many friends, family, and clients, then left both VanDutch and the app to open his own yacht brokerage before joining Merle Wood & Associates.
Growing up on the southeast coast of New England, Cardoza started yachting during the summers with his local yacht club and then sailed competitively for his high school sailing team. After attending culinary school in New York and Europe, Cardoza worked on motor and sailing yachts in various positions such as a chef, deckhand, and captain. Cardoza then moved to South Florida to work as fleet/corporate captain for yacht brokerages and yacht companies while providing yacht management services for owners.
Cardoza, who speaks English, Spanish, and Italian fluently, is a member of the International Yacht Brokers Association and lives in Miami Beach, Florida.
